Treasure hunting and local producers on the village square
Saint-Avit manages each spring to combine two traditions in one event: the popular flea market and the local producers' market. On Sunday 3 May 2026, the village square will host about sixty-seven residents emptying attics and garages, alongside farmers and food artisans presenting their productions directly. A smart formula giving the day a dual personality.
Children's toys, clothing of all sizes, baby items, books, comics, board games, crockery, ornaments, small furniture, bikes, sports equipment, tools, decoration. Saint-Avit residents and neighbouring communes come to make room in cupboards, and treasure hunters find objects at low prices, often in excellent condition.
The producers' market is a true showcase of the Tarn terroir. Organic market gardeners, goat or sheep cheese makers, farm butchers, beekeepers, artisan brewers, winegrowers, jam makers, poultry and egg producers. These farmers take advantage of the flea market crowd to offer tastings and establish direct links with consumers.
Saint-Avit is a small Tarn commune, at the foot of the Montagne Noire foothills. Less known than its neighbours (Dourgne, Sorèze), it retains a quiet charm, between woods and meadows.
Village square, Saint-Avit (81110). Access from Dourgne, Soual or Castres. Village parking.
Sunday 3 May 2026. Full day, opening in the morning.
