Village flea market south of Amiens
The annual Remiencourt flea market is held every spring on Place de l'Église and in the adjacent streets of this small village located south of Amiens. Private and professional exhibitors unpack bric-a-brac, dishware, furniture, clothes and various objects in a friendly atmosphere typical of Picardy rural events. A pleasant stop for bargain hunters from the Amiens metropolis.
Less than twenty kilometers south of the Somme prefecture, Remiencourt is a small rural village located in the Noye valley. Every spring, the community organizes its annual flea market on the church square and in the surrounding streets. The event, part of the tradition of village flea markets typical of the department, attracts bargain hunters from Amiens but also from the surrounding area — Ailly-sur-Noye, Boves, Moreuil — eager to enjoy a day of treasure hunting without traveling far.
The exhibitors, mixing village residents and a few professionals from the area, offer the usual assortment of Somme flea markets: dishware, earthenware and porcelain, old linen, books, old papers, postcards, old toys and games, retro clothing, small furniture, tools, various trinkets and sometimes some more specialized collector's items. Bargain hunters appreciate the variety and local roots of the offer, far from the uniformity of large professional flea markets.
The Remiencourt church square, with its old religious building and brick houses, offers a picturesque setting for the flea market. The adjacent streets, where the installation of exhibitors continues, give the event a pleasant village dimension: you walk around, linger in front of a stand, push on to the next stall. This star-shaped configuration from the church invites strolling and discovery.
Remiencourt is one of the rural villages south of the Amiens metropolis, in this still preserved sector of the Noye valley. The landscapes alternate crops, woods and meadows, with many villages typical of Picardy. Visitors to the flea market can easily extend their day by discovering Ailly-sur-Noye, its monuments and its market, or push on to the Folleville castle and the Santerre heritage sites. A day mixing bargain hunting, heritage and discovery of rural Somme.
