Grand summer flea market at the Nort-sur-Erdre lake with entertainment from the Groupe Celtique, 25th edition
Every July, the Puces Nortaises take over the Nort-sur-Erdre lake, rue des Écoles, for their 25th edition. With 280 exhibitors, a rate of €15 for 5x5m and musical entertainment from the local Groupe Celtique, this summer event combines treasure hunting and Breton culture in a particularly pleasant lakeside setting in Loire-Atlantique.
Nort-sur-Erdre is a picturesque town on the banks of the Erdre, in the heart of the Pays d'Ancenis in Loire-Atlantique. Crossed by this river that Balzac once called the « most beautiful river in France », the town benefits from a high-quality natural environment. It is in this enchanting setting, on the edge of the lake on rue des Écoles, that the Puces Nortaises, one of the most popular summer events in the town, are held every July.
The Puces Nortaises bring together around 280 exhibitors each year who offer a multitude of second-hand items: furniture and decoration, tableware and table arts, clothing and accessories, toys and games, books and documentation, curiosities and trinkets. The pitch is offered at a rate of €15 for a 5x5 meter space, an affordable rate that encourages the participation of many individuals from the region. The lake site offers a large area that can comfortably accommodate all exhibitors and visitors.
What particularly distinguishes the Puces Nortaises from other car boot sales in the region is the presence of the local Groupe Celtique, which livens up the day with its traditional Breton and Celtic songs and music. This cultural dimension gives a special festive and identity-driven character to the event, anchoring the Puces Nortaises in the living musical tradition of Loire-Atlantique, a land of Breton and Loire culture. The sounds of the bombarde, biniou, and accordions pleasantly accompany the wanderings of treasure hunters between the stalls.
With its 25th edition, the Puces Nortaises celebrate a quarter-century of existence, which testifies to their deep roots in local life. The organization of this event mobilizes committed volunteers who, year after year, build an event of quality recognized by exhibitors and visitors from the region alike.
The holding of this event in July makes it an ideal summer gathering, allowing residents and holidaymakers to enjoy both a great day of treasure hunting and the bucolic setting of the Nort lake. The Erdre, with its landscapes of meadows and woodlands, its aquatic fauna and its islands, offers an exceptional natural setting for this festive day.
