Every spring, the community hall of Arrou (Vald'Yerre, 28290) hosts the Puces des couturières, a flea market entirely dedicated to sewing, embroidery, knitting, and creative hobbies. Organized by the association Aux Doigts de Fée, this specialized event attracts sewing and needlework enthusiasts from all over Eure-et-Loir and neighboring departments.
The Puces des couturières d'Arrou are distinguished by their rigorous specialization. Exhibitors, both individuals and professionals, exclusively offer sewing, haberdashery, and creative hobby supplies: fabric remnants of all kinds (cotton, linen, silk, wool, fleece, lace), knitting and embroidery wools, threads and bobbins, vintage and modern haberdashery (buttons, clasps, trims, ribbons, bias tape), sewing magazines, patterns, and books, used sewing machines, embroidery and lace supplies, as well as everything related to creative hobbies such as patchwork, scrapbooking, or fabric painting.
The Aux Doigts de Fée association is a local group that brings together sewing and handicraft enthusiasts from the town of Arrou and its surroundings. Reachable at [email protected] or 02 37 98 86 00, it organizes workshops and meetings throughout the year to share know-how and passion for thread. The Puces des couturières are the highlight of its calendar, helping to fund its activities and promote creative sewing in rural areas.
Arrou, now integrated into the new commune of Vald'Yerre, is a municipality in Eure-et-Loir (28290) located in the canton of La Loupe, in the heart of Perche. This rural area, marked by the hedgerows and forests of Perche, contrasts with the vast plains of Beauce. Associative life is particularly active here, and events like the Puces des couturières contribute to animating this territory away from major urban centers.
The Puces des couturières are held at the community hall on rue Moigneau, in Arrou. The event is open from 10 am to 5 pm. Entry is free for visitors. Exhibitors set up before the public opening. A day not to be missed for all sewing enthusiasts in the region!
