Lakeside bargain hunting in Quercy
At the north-eastern edge of Tarn-et-Garonne, the small village of Parisot hosts each year a flea market with a particular charm: it takes place around the Lac de Parisot, a landscaped lake that is the heart of the village's summer activities. Organised by the festive committee as part of the traditional Liberation Festival, this spring event opens the lakeside bargain-hunting season.
About fifty exhibitors, mostly residents of the village and neighbouring villages (Caylus, Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, Verfeil-sur-Seye), display clothes, toys, china, books, vinyl, small antiques, tools and second-hand furniture in the unaffected style of a true village flea market.
The lake, around ten hectares in a wooded valley, offers an exceptional backdrop. Stalls line the shores and shaded paths, letting visitors stroll in a country atmosphere with the spring light of Quercy.
The flea market is part of the Liberation Festival: a festive day combining bargain hunting, refreshments, food on site and sometimes an evening dance. Regulars come as families, picnic by the lake and enjoy local specialities prepared by volunteers.
Arrive early (from 7:30am) for the best finds. Bring cash and small change, comfortable shoes and a picnic basket. Free entry for visitors.
