About Berdine Viens Flea Market
In spring, the Bergerie de Berdine opens its hamlet for a flea market rooted in the solidarity tradition of the eastern Luberon. This annual event, supported by the town hall of Viens, gathers bargain hunters, residents and friends of the community for a day of reuse, exchange and conviviality, with on-site catering.
The Bergerie de Berdine, a human adventure in the Luberon
Founded in 1973 on the heights of Viens, the Bergerie de Berdine is a unique community in Provence. It welcomes, without time limit and without financial counterpart, people in great difficulty: coming out of addictions, homeless, awaiting regularization. Over the decades, this place has become a major actor of solidarity in the eastern Luberon.
A flea market unlike any other
The event is much more than a simple sale: it is a meeting between the community, its neighbours and bargain hunters from the region. The sale empties the storerooms of the farm — furniture, tableware, linen, books, knick-knacks, tools, clothing — and proceeds directly support the life of the community.
An authentic setting
The hamlet, on the edge of the Luberon and the Albion plateau, offers an exceptional setting: old stones, gardens, animals, and that special energy of a place where people work together.
Berdine Viens Flea Market — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Bergerie de Berdine flea market was held on Sunday 29 March 2026 in the Viens hamlet. A solidarity day of bargain hunting and sharing, with on-site catering by the community. Proceeds contributed to the life of the farm and the welcoming of residents.
2026 edition review
On 29 March 2026, the Bergerie de Berdine welcomed bargain hunters and visitors for its traditional spring flea market. The hamlet, nestled between Viens and Saint-Martin-de-Castillon, became a vast chine area with stalls full of furniture, tableware, linens, books and tools collected throughout the year.
The convivial atmosphere, the home-cooked catering and the presence of farm animals gave the day its special tone. Beyond the bargain hunting, visitors discovered the solidarity project led since 1973 by this unique community.
