About Mornas Flea Market

At the foot of the spectacular medieval fortress of Mornas, the Flea Market is held every Saturday and Sunday year-round, on Rue Maoucrouset. Organised by the municipal staff association, it gathers up to 200 pitches of private sellers and professional antique dealers on a vast site with 1000-space car park. One of the most important weekly bric-a-brac rendezvous of the Rhône valley.

A permanent flea market beneath the fortress

Set on the edge of Mornas village, dominated by the impressive 12th-century fortress clinging to its 137-metre cliff, the Mornas Flea Market is one of the rare weekly gatherings in Vaucluse to run two days in a row, every Saturday and every Sunday, throughout the year. It occupies a vast prepared site on Rue Maoucrouset, at the village exit toward the RN7 highway.

An unusual scale for a weekly market

The site offers up to 200 pitches of 6 by 4 metres. Saturday mornings from 6am welcome private sellers emptying attics and cellars: Provençal crockery, old tools, embroidered linens, childhood toys, rustic furniture, books and vinyl records. Sundays add a strong presence of professional antique dealers and specialised traders: regional antiquities, 1950s-70s vintage furniture, lighting, curios, old postcards and militaria. Generous opening hours: Saturday 6am to 1pm, Sunday 5am to 2pm.

A well-organised site for the bargain hunter

Mornas has invested in solid infrastructure: 1000-space car park (paid on Sundays, 1.50 euro), bar on site, toilets and wide aisles. The event draws bargain hunters from Vaucluse, Gard, Drôme and southern Ardèche.

In a classified historic village

The setting adds to the charm. Mornas, a classified character village, boasts a restored medieval fortress, Romanesque church and fortified gate. After a morning of hunting, the twenty-minute climb to the castle offers stunning views over the Rhône valley and the vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Lirac and Tavel.
