Car boot sale of the Saint-Cyprien village festival in Périgord Noir
Every year in September, the municipality of Saint-Cyprien organizes a large car boot sale on the occasion of the village festival. This popular event brings together residents and holidaymakers in the streets of this picturesque village in Périgord Noir, nestled between the Dordogne and Vézère rivers, near the prehistoric sites of the Dordogne Valley.
Saint-Cyprien, with its medieval streets dominated by the imposing Romanesque abbey, offers an exceptional setting for bargain hunting. Stalls are set up on the village square and in the adjacent streets, allowing visitors to browse through stalls of antique tableware, trinkets, clothing, toys, books, and various objects while discovering the architectural heritage of the town. The free carousel for children and on-site catering add to the festive atmosphere of the day.
Located about twenty kilometers from Sarlat-la-Canéda, Saint-Cyprien benefits from a prime location between the castles of Beynac and Castelnaud, the gardens of Marqueyssac, and the caves of the Vézère Valley. The village festival car boot sale is the ideal opportunity to combine bargain hunting and tourism in this emblematic part of the Dordogne. On the festival Sunday, the village comes alive from the morning and the festivities continue until the late afternoon.
Organized directly by the municipality of Saint-Cyprien, the car boot sale is reserved for individuals. The fee of €3 per linear meter remains very affordable, which encourages wide participation and a varied selection for visitors. Registration is done through the town hall. Entry is free for visitors.
