The great traditional fair of the Tarn plateau
A commune perched on a plateau at 612 metres altitude, on the edge of Lacaune mountains and Sidobre, Montredon-Labessonnié (81360) holds an exceptional position in south-eastern Tarn. The commune perpetuates the tradition of great fairs that once set the rhythm of Tarn plateaus life, and its May fair remains a highlight.
On stalls, traditional flea market bric-a-brac (clothing, toys, crockery, furniture, books) coexists with local artisans (pottery, textile creations, leather, turned wood) and terroir producers: Lacaune mountain cheeses, charcuterie, sourdough bread, honey, Gaillac wines.
The fair retains the spirit of old rural fairs. It reflects Montredon-Labessonnié's strong identity, deeply rooted in its terroir.
