In spring, the town of Plogonnec (29180) opens the doors of its Arpège hall, rue du Stade, to host its traditional Swap meet. This popular event brings together about fifty exhibitors — all individuals — offering clothes, toys, books, dishes, tools, and everyday items at low prices, in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.

The event is organized by a local association from Plogonnec, keen to liven up the town and offer residents a place for exchange and good deals. The proceeds help finance the association's activities and contribute to projects benefiting the local community.

The Arpège hall and the town of Plogonnec

Plogonnec is a commune in Finistère located about ten kilometers west of Quimper, in the Glazik region. The Arpège hall, rue du Stade, is the main multi-purpose hall in the town and hosts associations, cultural events, and sports activities throughout the year. Its interior layout makes it an ideal setting for car boot sales and swap meets, allowing about fifty exhibitors to be accommodated in good conditions.

The Glazik region, of which Plogonnec is one of the representative villages, is known for its vibrant Breton traditions, particularly its traditional costume and its fest-noz. Associative life is rich, and the Spring Swap meet is part of this tradition of local animation.

Participation conditions

Admission is accessible for €1.50 for visitors (free for children under 12). Individual exhibitors pay a pitch fee to the organizers. The usual hours of the event are from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments and drinks are offered on site by the association's volunteers.
