Flea market and bread oven festival in Chambon, baking tradition and flea market finds in the Indre valley.
The Chambon flea market accompanies the Bread Oven Festival, a festive day celebrating the baking tradition with communal oven baking, a flea market, and activities in this village in the Indre valley.
The Chambon flea market is part of the Bread Oven Festival, a friendly event that revives the baking tradition of this Touraine village. Exhibitors offer furniture, tableware, tools, toys, clothing, books, trinkets, pottery, antique linens and flea market items, while the communal bread oven is fired up to produce country bread, Touraine fouaces, and wood-fired tarts. The event attracts lovers of rural traditions and foodies.
Chambon is a small village of about 350 inhabitants located in the Indre valley, between Loches and ChΓ’tillon-sur-Indre. This well-preserved village has a carefully restored communal bread oven, a testament to the rural life of yesteryear. The landscape of the Indre valley, with its meadows, poplar trees, and wooded hillsides, offers an enchanting setting for this festive day.
Wood-fired bread is available for purchase on-site. A snack bar and food stalls complete the festivities. Admission is free.
The Chambon Bread Oven Festival and flea market returns on May 31, 2026.
