43rd Wine and Local Products Fair with flea market in the streets of Le Grand-Pressigny, City of Prehistory
The Wine and Local Products Fair of Le Grand-Pressigny is a major spring event in southern Touraine, with its 43rd edition taking place in 2026. This fair combines a car boot sale and flea market in the village streets with a market of producers and winegrowers. On the flea market side, you can find: furniture, tableware, trinkets, books, tools, clothing, toys, antique linens and curiosities; on the local products side: Touraine wines, goat cheeses, honey, jams, cured meats and local specialties.
Le Grand-Pressigny is a commune of about 1,000 inhabitants located in the south of Indre-et-Loire, at the confluence of the Claise and Aigronne rivers. The city is world-renowned for its Neolithic flint knapping workshops, which exported large flint blades from Pressigny throughout Western Europe. The castle houses a remarkable Museum of Prehistory. The Confrérie des Vins du Grand-Pressigny (Wine Brotherhood of Le Grand-Pressigny) perpetuates the local wine tradition.
The fair is held on Sundays, with free admission. It's a unique opportunity to combine a morning of treasure hunting, a tasting of Touraine wines, and a visit to the Museum of Prehistory in an exceptional heritage setting.
