Car boot sale organized by the Wancourt festival committee, rue d'Artois
The Wancourt festival committee's car boot sale is held annually in June, rue d'Artois, in this village located 10 km south-east of Arras. Organized by the volunteers of the festival committee, this village car boot sale brings together individuals from Wancourt and the surrounding areas for a friendly day of treasure hunting in the heart of the Artois countryside.
Wancourt, a village of about 600 inhabitants nestled in the Cojeul valley south-east of Arras, organizes its annual car boot sale every June. Rue d'Artois, the main street of the village, transforms for a day into an open-air market where individuals offer clothes, toys, crockery, books, small furniture, and a thousand everyday items at low prices.
The Wancourt festival committee, like in many villages in the Pas-de-Calais, is the pillar of local entertainment. Composed of dedicated volunteers, it organizes throughout the year the events that mark the life of the village: ducasse, car boot sale, seniors' meal, Christmas party. The car boot sale is one of the highlights of this festive calendar.
Wancourt is located in the Cojeul valley, a small tributary of the Sensée. This hilly landscape of Artois, between wheat fields and pastures, offers an ideal rural setting for a morning of treasure hunting. The village, marked by the fighting of 1917 (Battle of Arras), was rebuilt between the wars and retains an authentic rural character.
The Wancourt festival committee's car boot sale returns on June 13, 2026, rue d'Artois. Village car boot sale, rural atmosphere, free entry.
