Village car boot sale in a small Aspres village a few kilometers from Le Boulou
The Tresserre town hall organizes its annual car boot sale in the heart of this charming Catalan village in the Aspres. A simple and warm meeting, faithful to the spirit of small rural communes of the Pyrénées-Orientales. From 7 am to 3 pm, residents and bargain hunters take over the streets and squares of the village for a day of sales under the plane trees, with refreshments on site and parking nearby.
Nestled in the heart of the Aspres, this golden piedmont that precedes the first slopes of Mount Canigou, Tresserre is one of those small Catalan villages where life flows peacefully to the rhythm of the seasons and traditions. Every spring, the Tresserre town hall organizes its annual car boot sale, a highly anticipated event for residents and neighboring communes of Le Boulou, Banyuls-dels-Aspres or Maureillas.
Tresserre has just over 900 inhabitants and is distinguished by its Saint-Saturnin church, its castle and its narrow streets lined with river pebble and terracotta houses. The village is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and Catalan scrubland. The car boot sale takes over the central streets, the shady plane tree squares and the surroundings of the town hall, creating a real village within the village.
Unlike the large car boot sales of the Roussillon plain which attract hundreds of exhibitors, the one in Tresserre favors conviviality and direct exchanges between residents and visitors. You can find everyday items, toys, books, clothes, Catalan tableware, trinkets and sometimes unexpected finds. Prices are low, the atmosphere relaxed, and it's often the occasion for beautiful encounters over a cool beer at the refreshment bar.
Visiting Tresserre during its car boot sale also means discovering an unknown terroir of the Pyrénées-Orientales: that of Aspres wines (Côtes du Roussillon), scrubland honey, olive oil and almonds. Nearby, you can push on to Castelnou classified among the most beautiful villages of France, or to the Réart gorges. A small piece of authentic Catalonia just a few kilometers from the A9 motorway.
Tresserre car boot sale on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 7 am to 3 pm in the village center. Price: €5 for 3 linear meters. Registration with the town hall: [email protected] or +33 4 68 38 80 34.
