A car boot sale in the heart of the Catalan Aspres

Every spring, the Football Club des Aspres (FC Aspres) organizes its traditional car boot sale in the small village of Banyuls-dels-Aspres. From 6 AM, exhibitors set up to offer bargain hunters their treasures: clothes, toys, books, tableware, trinkets, small furniture, vinyl records, tools and decorative items. The atmosphere is that, inimitable, of Catalan rural car boot sales: relaxed, family-friendly, where people take time to chat over coffee.

A village club committed to its youth

The FC Aspres, a football club that brings together several Aspres communes, keeps the sporting spirit and Catalan conviviality alive. Like many rural clubs, it depends largely on volunteer commitment and events organized by its members. The annual car boot sale is a key moment in the club's life: the proceeds help finance equipment, travel and training for the youth teams.

Banyuls-dels-Aspres, authentic Catalan village

Not to be confused with Banyuls-sur-Mer, Banyuls-dels-Aspres is a small village of a few hundred inhabitants located at the foot of the Albères massif, in the Aspres natural region. This Catalan territory, characterized by its maquis hills, cork oaks and vineyards, offers a preserved rural setting.
