22nd edition of the traditional Ascension Day flea market in the famous Alsatian wine village
The 22nd Dambach-la-Ville Tennis Club Flea Market will be held on Thursday 14 May 2026, Ascension Day, in this renowned wine village on the Alsace Wine Route. Organised for more than two decades by the volunteers of the local Tennis Club, this event has become a must-attend spring gathering in the Alsatian calendar. In the picturesque setting of Dambach-la-Ville, one of the three Alsatian communes to bear the title of 'ville' on the grand cru wine route, antique dealers and private sellers offer antique furniture, crockery, trinkets, books, toys, vintage clothing and collectibles. Each year the event attracts thousands of bargain hunters who combine browsing with discovering the Alsatian vineyard in one of its most beautiful villages.
The Dambach-la-Ville Tennis Club Flea Market celebrates its 22nd edition in 2026, confirming its status as an institution among the major Alsatian flea markets on Ascension Day. Organised by volunteers from the local Tennis Club, this event brings together a large number of exhibitors each year who unpack furniture, antiques and curiosities in a family and friendly atmosphere. Bargain hunters find a wide variety of items: antique furniture, crockery, glassware, trinkets, light fixtures, postcards, old books, vinyl records, vintage toys, retro clothing and Alsatian curiosities. Exhibitor registration is done by form with the Tennis Club, which organises this event to finance its activities and maintain its sports facilities. The day is punctuated by the refreshment stand and food service run by volunteers, offering Alsatian specialities, local drinks and regional wines, making this flea market a true moment of village conviviality.
Dambach-la-Ville is one of the most beautiful wine-growing villages in Bas-Rhin, famous throughout Alsace for its medieval ramparts, half-timbered houses and vineyard classified as the Frankstein grand cru. Located on the Alsace Wine Route between Sélestat and Barr, the commune of around 2,000 inhabitants is one of only three communes in Alsace to bear the title of 'ville': Dambach-la-Ville, Marckolsheim and Herrlisheim. Its medieval alleys lined with wine cellars, its Saint-Sébastien chapel, its fortified gates and its hillside vineyard offer an exceptional setting that attracts thousands of visitors each year to discover one of the jewels of Alsatian wine-growing and architectural heritage. The commune produces some of the best Rieslings and Gewurztraminers in the region, and its granite terroir gives the wines a minerality particularly appreciated by connoisseurs.
