With several dates scheduled each year, the La Coquille car boot sale has established itself as a regular event for bargain hunters in the north of the Dordogne. The Place de l'Église, the central square of the village, hosts the stalls from 6:30 am, allowing early risers to enjoy the best finds before the midday rush.

Three annual events for bargain hunters

In 2025, the car boot sale will be held in July, August and October, offering three opportunities to hunt for treasures in La Coquille. This regularity builds loyalty among regular bargain hunters and allows exhibitors to renew their offerings from one session to the next. The pitch at €2.50 per linear meter remains competitive and attracts many private sellers from the surrounding area.

The Place de l'Église, heart of the village

The Place de l'Église in La Coquille is a vast central square lined with shops and old houses. The Romanesque church of Saint-Martial, which gives its name to the square, is a 12th-century building classified as a historic monument, with a remarkable sculpted portal.
