Every year in May, the small town of Pont-de-Vaux, nestled on the banks of the Saône between Bresse and Mâconnais, hosts a large-scale flea market that attracts bargain hunters and strollers from all over the region. Organized by the dynamic association Anime Joubert, this event transforms the town center into a huge hunting ground for good deals.

Over 160 exhibitors throughout the town

The flea market takes over the most beautiful streets of Pont-de-Vaux: the promenade-esplanade, Avenue Adrien Thierry, the courtyard of the Arquebuse, and the sidewalks of Rue de la Verchère. More than 160 exhibitors, both individuals and professionals, offer an impressive array of items: furniture, tableware, trinkets, vintage clothing, old books, tools, records, and curiosities of all kinds.

A town of character on the banks of the Saône

Pont-de-Vaux, classified as a "petite cité de caractère" (small town of character), offers a remarkable architectural setting for this day of treasure hunting. Place Vice-Amiral Decourt, the event's hub, and the medieval streets of the historic center add a heritage touch to the stroll between the stalls. Visitors enjoy extending their visit with a walk along the Saône or a visit to the Musée Chintreuil.

An event rooted in local community life

The association Anime Joubert, a pillar of Pont-de-Vaux's entertainment, puts all its energy into making this flea market a friendly and well-organized event. Volunteers, mobilized from the early hours of the morning, welcome exhibitors and visitors with a smile, contributing to the warm atmosphere that has made this event famous throughout the department.

Practical Information

The flea market welcomes visitors from 7 am to 7 pm, with free entry. Exhibitors set up from 4 am. Pitches are offered at 2 euros per linear meter, without prior reservation. Coffee is offered to exhibitors. Food and drinks are available on site by the association. Parking is available in the streets surrounding the town center.
