Festive 1-2 January tradition on the Simon Lorière Promenade
On 1 and 2 January 2026, the City of Sainte-Maxime continues its New Year flea market tradition on the Simon Lorière Promenade, facing the sea. From 9am to 5pm, professional dealers and bargain hunters meet on the exceptional Maxime seafront to open the year in style, with the Bay of Saint-Tropez as backdrop.
The Sainte-Maxime New Year flea market is one of the emblematic cultural events of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Run yearly by the city, it takes over the Simon Lorière Promenade, lined with palms and overlooking the bay, for an open-air brocante that contrasts with the town's summer image.
The 2026 edition, held on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 January 9am-5pm, opened the year in a well-established tradition, confirming Sainte-Maxime's status as a year-round hunting destination.
The Simon Lorière Promenade, along Sainte-Maxime's port and facing Saint-Tropez across the gulf, offers one of the finest brocante settings on the Var Riviera. Stalls stand under palms and maritime pines in a sunny Mediterranean atmosphere even in winter. Backdrop: sea, sailboats and the Maures hills.
Sainte-Maxime, elegant resort facing Saint-Tropez, blends Provençal charm, sandy beaches and cultural energy. Heritage Villa Les Myrtes and Square Tower, summer events and proximity to the gulf make it a key Var destination.
The two-day format lets hunters take their time. A calm, friendly tone reflects new-year spirit. Mostly professional dealers offer quality pieces, often with negotiable prices.
