The annual Rugby Club flea market on Place de la Libération
For over a quarter of a century, the Rugby Club Pays du Gier has been organizing its big annual flea market on the Place de la Libération in Rive-de-Gier. It has become a must-attend event for bargain hunters in the Gier valley and the Saint-Étienne metropolitan area, offering the chance to find great deals while supporting local rugby.
All profits from the flea market are donated to support the club's activities and its rugby school. The exhibitor fee is set at a minimum of 15 euros for 5 linear meters, with an additional 3 euros per extra meter. Registration is done by phone with the club.
Rive-de-Gier, a historic town in the Gier valley, is located between Saint-Étienne and Lyon. The Place de la Libération, which also hosts the bi-weekly market, offers a central and easily accessible space for this event. Bargain hunters can find crockery, trinkets, clothing, toys, books, and various items offered by private and professional exhibitors.
