Commercial festival and street sale on the Lyon Presqu'île, centred around local shops in the 1st arrondissement
The Lyon Braderie Festival is a commercial and festive event that enlivens the Presqu'île of Lyon each year. During this period, neighbourhood shops bring their goods out into the street for exceptional sales and promotions, while private sellers and associations set up on pavements and squares to sell clothing, objects, books and trinkets. The atmosphere is festive and popular, in the tradition of France's great urban street sales.
Lyon's 1st arrondissement is one of the city's most vibrant and emblematic districts. The Presqu'île — this strip of land between the Rhône and the Saône — concentrates shops, restaurants, theatres, museums and iconic squares such as the place des Terreaux (with its famous Bartholdi fountain and the Town Hall façade) and the main shopping streets.
The Presqu'île is accessible by metro lines A and D (Hôtel de Ville or Bellecour stations), trams T1 and T2, TCL buses and by bicycle (many Vélo'v stations). From Part-Dieu, take metro line A to Bellecour or Hôtel de Ville.
