Bargain hunting in one of the finest Small Towns of Character in Deux-Sèvres
The Loup'arts garage sale brings together around 80 exhibitors in the medieval village of Saint-Loup-Lamairé, labelled a Small Town of Character. Organised by the cultural association Les Loup'arts, this event offers an exceptional setting for bargain hunting: medieval lanes, half-timbered houses from the 15th and 16th centuries and a Renaissance castle create a unique backdrop.
The Les Loup'arts association drives the cultural life of Saint-Loup-Lamairé throughout the year. Its annual garage sale brings the local community and visitors together around the pleasure of bargain hunting, in an exceptional heritage setting. Around 80 exhibitors set up along the streets and squares of the village.
Saint-Loup-Lamairé is a Small Town of Character nestled in the Thouet valley in northern Deux-Sèvres. The village preserves remarkable medieval heritage: 15th and 16th-century half-timbered houses, some of which belonged to Voltaire's ancestors. The castle, said to have inspired Charles Perrault's Puss in Boots, adds to the village's fairy-tale charm.
With 80 exhibitors, the Loup'arts garage sale offers an intimate and quality format. Stalls offer a mix of family bric-a-brac and more sought-after items. Exhibitor rates are €2 per linear metre.
Saint-Loup-Lamairé is also renowned for its dairy activity and the production of goat cheese famous throughout France.
