Annual large flea market of Sillegny, village of the church with frescoes
The Greniers de la Seille are one of the largest flea markets in the Metz area. Nearly 200 exhibitors take over the village streets from 6 am to 6 pm, offering flea market items, antique objects, tableware, trinkets, furniture, books, and collectibles. The event, organized for over 25 years, enjoys a solid reputation among bargain hunters from Moselle and Meurthe-et-Moselle.
Sillegny is a village of about 600 inhabitants located in the Seille valley, halfway between Metz and Pont-Ã -Mousson. The village is world-renowned for its Saint-Martin church, in flamboyant Gothic style, whose remarkable frescoes executed in tempera dating from 1540 cover the entire interior walls. These exceptional frescoes earn Sillegny the nickname "Sixtine de la Seille". The visit to the church is free and accessible to people with reduced mobility.
