Professional flea market every Sunday on the Promenade du Peyrou in Montpellier
Les Dimanches du Peyrou are the essential meeting place for Montpellier bargain hunters. Every Sunday morning, around 70 professional exhibitors set up their stalls on the Promenade du Peyrou, one of Montpellier's most beautiful squares. At the foot of the triumphal arch and the water tower, antique dealers and flea market vendors offer antique furniture, art objects, tableware, vintage jewelry, and curiosities in a majestic setting.
Every Sunday from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, the Promenade du Peyrou hosts one of the most beautiful flea markets in the south of France. Around 70 professional exhibitors — antique dealers, flea market vendors, and art merchants — set up their stalls along this royal esplanade lined with century-old plane trees. You can find antique furniture, earthenware tableware, vintage jewelry, paintings, rare books, silverware, and curiosities. The quality of the goods and the exceptional setting make this flea market a popular event for collectors and decorators.
The Promenade du Peyrou is one of Montpellier's most emblematic sites. Developed in the 17th century, this vast esplanade overlooks the city and offers an exceptional panorama of the Cévennes and, on clear days, of the Canigou peak and the Mediterranean. The triumphal arch erected in honor of Louis XIV marks the entrance to the site, while the water tower, supplied by the Saint-Clément aqueduct that crosses the entire district, stands at the other end. Strolling among the flea market stalls in this magnificent setting is a unique experience.
Les Dimanches du Peyrou attract a diverse audience: seasoned bargain hunters from all over Occitanie, tourists amazed by the setting, students looking for good deals, and families out for a stroll. The atmosphere is friendly, and conversations between vendors and customers are part of the ritual. After the hunt, the terraces of the cafes on Place de la Canourgue and the nearby Écusson allow you to extend the pleasure over a coffee or a glass of Languedoc wine.
