A Spring Festival at the Foot of the Church

Every year in April, the church square of Saint-Marc-à-Frongier comes alive for a day with Le Printemps de Saint-Marc, organized by the association Les Amis du Patrimoine. From 9 am to 5 pm, this festive gathering combines a plant market, crafts, a car boot sale, and entertainment in a rural and friendly atmosphere, five kilometers from Aubusson, a UNESCO-listed tapestry city.

Plant Market, Crafts, and Local Products

The plant and flower market is at the heart of this spring event. Nurseries and amateur gardeners offer vegetable plants, flowers, herbs, and shrubs to prepare for the beautiful season. Craft stands showcase local creations, while local products allow visitors to discover the flavors of Creuse: cheeses, honey, jams, and regional specialties.

Wood-Fired Oven Bread and Brass Band

One of the most popular attractions of Le Printemps de Saint-Marc is the sale of bread baked on-site in a traditional wood-fired oven. This activity perpetuates ancient know-how and offers visitors the chance to taste bread with a unique, crispy, and fragrant flavor. The Les Cuivres Fondus brass band, a group of 15 musicians, parades through the village streets all day long, infusing the entire event with a festive and joyful energy.

Saint-Marc-à-Frongier, a Village on the Outskirts of Aubusson

Saint-Marc-à-Frongier is a small commune in Creuse located five kilometers from Aubusson, on the road to Limoges. This granite village, dominated by its Romanesque church, is set in a landscape of wooded hills and meadows typical of the Millevaches plateau. The association Les Amis du Patrimoine works to preserve and promote the architectural and cultural heritage of the commune, making Le Printemps de Saint-Marc a moment of sharing around local traditions.
