The spring réderie of the Picardy Santerre
Laucourt is a small village in the Santerre, a southeastern Somme region marked by large cereal plains and World War I history. Each spring, the town organizes its annual flea market on Place Henry Bayard, a local rendezvous.
The historic village square welcomes exhibitors and visitors. Private individuals, the majority, offer the classic Picardy réderie display: tableware, family clothes, toys, books, vinyls, tools, trinkets, small furniture.
Laucourt is a village of about a hundred inhabitants, near Roye and Montdidier. This part of the department, marked by WWI battles, underwent heavy reconstruction. Organizing a flea market here helps maintain active community life.
Far from large urban réderies attracting thousands, village flea markets like Laucourt cultivate a different spirit: proximity, conversation, simple pleasure of bargain hunting without pressure.
