La Roche-Posay is world-famous for its thermal waters and dermatology. This spa town, in north-east Vienne bordering the Creuse and Gartempe rivers, offers a particularly pleasant setting for brocantes. Spa-goers, locals and hunters from neighbouring departments gather several times a year for now-essential events.

2026 calendar

• Sunday 19 April 2026 — Large brocante and vide-grenier at the Hippodrome (La Gatinière) from 6am. Free entry. Exhibitor fee: 4 metres free then 2€ per additional linear metre. Bar and catering on site.
• 30-31 May 2026 — Vide-maison at 7 rue du Paradis.
• Every 4th Sunday — Regular brocante vide-grenier Place du Commerce, private and professional, 2€/m.

Spa atmosphere

Hunting in La Roche-Posay has a particular charm: the town has kept Belle Époque and Art Deco heritage linked to its thermal activity, and several exhibitors offer items connected to this universe (antique spa bottles, posters, postcards). Place du Commerce, the commercial heart, offers the ideal setting for monthly brocantes.

La Roche-Posay, thermal heritage

With 1,600 inhabitants but a population multiplied by spa-goers, the town is one of northern Vienne's most dynamic. Besides world-renowned thermal baths, it keeps an old town with Notre-Dame-des-Orgueilleuses church (12th century), the Bourg Bas gate, and a casino.

Extending the day

Angles-sur-l'Anglin (one of France's Most Beautiful Villages) is 15 km away with its medieval castle and Roc-aux-Sorciers Magdalenian frescoes. Saint-Savin (15 km) houses the UNESCO abbey.
