Autumn bargain hunting in the Lacaune Mountains
Le Bez is a rural commune in southern Tarn, nestled in the northern foothills of the Black Mountain and on the edge of the Lacaune Mountains. The hamlet of Guyor offers an authentic setting: meadows, chestnut forests, old barns, and wide horizons typical of this preserved corner. The Guyor flea market has become a popular autumn event for the Sidobre, Brassac, and Mazamet areas.
Held in early October, the flea market benefits from the soft light and blazing colors of late Tarn season. It draws private sellers from the commune and neighboring villages, offering the classics of rural flea markets: clothing, antique toys, books, crockery, tools, rustic furniture, and family knick-knacks. A few local collectors sometimes add vinyl, postcards, or antique items.
Beyond the shopping, the Guyor flea market is a nice autumn outing. Le Bez is close to the Sidobre boulders, one of the largest granite chaos in Europe, the Lacaune Mountain lakes, and typical villages like Brassac or Lacaune. Many visitors combine with a forest walk or a stop at local producers (Lacaune charcuterie, cheese, honey).
Guyor being small, arrive early to park. Bring warm clothes in case of fresh autumn morning, cash, and a bag. Simple refreshments run by volunteers.
