Grimaud Provençal Costume Fair

A unique heritage rendezvous in Provence

The Grimaud Provençal "vide-commode" is a stand-out in the Var flea-market landscape. Organised by the Escandihado folk group, it is exclusively devoted to Provençal costumes, old textiles and traditional southern accessories. It takes place on Sunday 8 March 2026, 9am to 4pm, in the Arthur Bauchet Hall of Complexe Sportif des Blaquières, 834 route des Blaquières.

Escandihado, pillar of local Provençal culture, has worked for years to pass on the Var's dress and music traditions. Its annual costume fair is a must for folk groups, dancers, passionate seamstresses and textile collectors.

Folk groups from the Var and Bouches-du-Rhône refresh costumes, seamstresses stock old fabrics, collectors hunt rare pieces, grandmothers pass on heirlooms. A studious, passionate vibe, with much discussion of authenticity and regional traditions.
