Mortagne-sur-Gironde is a picturesque village in Charente-Maritime clinging to the limestone cliffs overlooking the Gironde estuary, the largest estuary in Europe. Its marina nestled at the foot of the cliffs, its emblematic fishing huts (carrelets), and its steep streets make it one of the most photographed sites on the Charente coast. The village, a former trading port, retains remarkable maritime heritage and an authentic fishing village atmosphere.
The Foire de la Saint-Fiacre offers a complete program for all ages. The flea market and car boot sale are at the heart of the event, with stalls set up in the streets of the village center. An exhibition of vintage cars delights lovers of fine mechanics. Children enjoy the bouncy castle and the educational farm, while the more adventurous can take trike rides. Craft creators showcase their skills, and the gourmet market highlights local Charente products. Musical entertainment punctuates the day.
