The Grande Brocante du 15 Août: Semussac's Summer Event

Every August 15th, Assumption Day, the center of Semussac comes alive for its grand annual flea market. Organized by Team Ocean 17, this event brings together up to 200 exhibitors in the village streets, attracting bargain hunters from all over the Royannais region and beyond. The flea market is distinguished by its prohibition of food products and new clothing, a guarantee of authenticity for lovers of good finds.

The center of Semussac in celebration

Stalls are set up on rue de Didonne, in the heart of Semussac village, creating a treasure hunt route through a typical village of the Presqu'île d'Arvert. Exhibitors, arriving as early as 5:30 AM, unpack antique furniture, tableware, trinkets, tools, books, and collectible items. The atmosphere is that of a friendly and family-oriented village flea market, where good deals are negotiated directly.

Semussac, between estuary and forest

A rural commune in the Presqu'île d'Arvert, Semussac is located a few kilometers from Royan and the Gironde estuary. Surrounded by vineyards and maritime pine forests, the commune offers a peaceful setting conducive to summer flea markets. The village center retains its authentic character, with its Romanesque church and traditional Charentais houses.

Organization and registration

Team Ocean 17 is responsible for organizing the event, managing pitches, and providing catering on site. The exhibitor fee is €5 per linear meter (€5.50 after August 7th). Registration is mandatory before this date. Parking is available nearby. Refreshments and food are provided by the organizing association.
