Every June, the village of Écly (08300), in the Ardennes, comes alive for its Grande Brocante annuelle. Organized by Serge Fournel, this event takes place along an original route from the town hall to the football stadium, along rue de l'Église. With about fifty exhibitors, it is one of the most popular events in the Rethel area during the summer.

Écly, an Ardennes village in the heart of the Porcien rethélois

Écly is a small village in the Rethel arrondissement, located in the Ardennes Porcien plain, about ten kilometers north of the town. This agricultural area with vast horizons is characteristic of the chalky Champagne region, with its large cereal farms and villages clustered along the roads. Écly is a typical example, with its church, town hall, and football field – all places of life that form the setting for the annual flea market.

Fifty exhibitors on an original route

The Grande Brocante d'Écly is distinguished by its route which extends from the town hall to the football field, crossing the heart of the village. This linear layout allows visitors to stroll freely along the approximately 50 exhibitors, who offer a wide variety of items: old and new furniture, crockery and glassware, clothing and shoes, books and magazines, toys, tools, trinkets, and decorative objects. The diversity of items, from both individuals and flea market professionals, guarantees a rich and varied treasure hunt experience.

Free entry for everyone

The Grande Brocante d'Écly is accessible to all visitors free of charge. This open access policy contributes to its popular success and attracts bargain hunters from all over the Rethel area and beyond. The organizer, Serge Fournel, personally ensures the smooth running of the day, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, guaranteeing a friendly atmosphere and a well-organized space for exhibitors and visitors.
