Every May 1st, the town of Rethel (08300) hosts its annual flea market at the Promenade des Isles, a green setting on the banks of the Aisne. This popular event brings together about fifty private exhibitors for a day of car boot sale and flea market, from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Trinkets, furniture, clothing, books, tableware, and everyday objects are displayed in this idyllic promenade area.
