Every first Sunday of July, the Comité des Fêtes de Pannes organizes its big summer car boot sale. In this rural village in the Loiret, located a few kilometers from Montargis, this event is one of the highlights of the summer for the residents and passing tourists. Between 100 and 150 private sellers set up for a long day of treasure hunting and bargain finding.

A car boot sale under the July sun

The month of July offers an ideal summer setting for this open-air event. The sellers, all private individuals, offer a selection of various items that reflect the daily life of families in Pannes and the surrounding areas: summer and winter clothes, toys, tableware and table arts, books and comics, tools, trinkets, garden furniture, textiles, and decorative objects. The diversity of stalls guarantees a pleasant stroll for all treasure hunters.

The Comité des Fêtes de Pannes is one of the most active associations in the commune. Throughout the year, it organizes events that punctuate local life and create connections between residents. The big July car boot sale is one of its flagship achievements, allowing it to finance its activities and offer the people of Pannes a popular and family-friendly event.

Food and drinks are provided on site by the committee's volunteers. Cold drinks, sandwiches, and light refreshments allow for a pleasant extension of the day under the summer sun. Entry is free for all visitors, whether they come from Pannes or from the entire Montargis region.

Access and parking

The car boot sale takes place on the esplanade around the Pannes community hall, rue Marcel Donette. Access is facilitated by the large parking lot available nearby. Sellers arrive at dawn and are placed in order of arrival, without prior reservation.
