The big spring car boot sale in the historic setting of Fort Saint-André in Salins-les-Bains
The Grand Vide-Grenier Printanier at Fort Saint-André offers an absolutely unique setting for a day of treasure hunting: the ramparts and esplanades of this 19th-century fortification overlooking Salins-les-Bains host exhibitors for a Sunday in May. The panoramic view of the Furieuse valley and the Jura hills adds to the charm of this original event.
Open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the car boot sale brings together dozens of exhibitors—individuals and professionals alike—who set up their stalls along the fort's paths and terraces. You can find anything and everything: antique tableware, trinkets, vintage clothing, toys, books, tools, and decorative items. The earliest visitors arrive at opening time to find rare items before the crowds.
To liven up the day, Fort Saint-André organizes a raffle at 1 euro per ticket, with attractive prizes including entries to the Vauban Aventures park and gift baskets. A refreshment stand and a dining area allow visitors to refuel between browsing the stalls.
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its Grande Saline, Salins-les-Bains is a major tourist destination in the Jura region. The spring car boot sale at Fort Saint-André is the perfect opportunity to combine a day of bargain hunting with a visit to this spa town with its remarkable heritage.
