The big annual car boot sale of La Rivière-Drugeon, a village in the Haut-Doubs nestled in the Drugeon valley
Every spring, La Rivière-Drugeon hosts its Grand Vide-Grenier, one of the most popular second-hand events in the Frasne and Haut-Doubs area. On April 12, 2026, local sellers and passers-by can browse the stalls to find clothes, toys, dishes, books, and all sorts of second-hand items.
Located at 826 meters altitude in the Drugeon valley, La Rivière-Drugeon (25560) is a charming village in the canton of Frasne, crossed by the Drugeon river, an exceptional wetland classified as Natura 2000. With its 868 inhabitants, the commune has a rich heritage: a beautiful 15th-century Gothic church, a hotel-restaurant, a train station on the Frasne–Les Verrières line, and a natural ice rink in winter. The Plaine d'Arlier, of which La Rivière-Drugeon is a part, is one of the largest peat bogs and wetlands in France.
Unlike large city sales, the La Rivière-Drugeon car boot sale retains a rural and authentic character much appreciated by treasure hunters looking for a break from urban hustle and bustle. The friendliness of the small villages of the Haut-Doubs is palpable, and the exceptional natural setting of the Drugeon valley makes it a pleasant outing for the whole family.
La Rivière-Drugeon is accessible from Pontarlier (18 km northwest) via the D471, or from Frasne (5 km) via the D471. Exit A39 at Bourg-en-Bresse then A36 towards Besançon and D471 from Pontarlier.
