Entraigues's big spring flea market

Every May, CAP Entraigues takes over the town centre of Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue for its giant flea market. The 2026 edition is Sunday 17 May: 4m by 2.5m pitches at a flat €12 across the village's streets and squares. Entraigues turns into a massive flea market for a day, drawing hunters from the whole Avignon belt.

The town-centre format gives the event its edge: rather than stalls in a car park, you wander through streets, between traditional façades, open shops, cafés and terraces. A festive Provençal atmosphere that revitalises the village heart and strengthens ties between residents and shopkeepers.

CAP Entraigues association

CAP Entraigues (Cultural Animation and Promotion Centre) is one of the town's most active associations, running cultural, festive and charity events year-round. The giant May flea market is its flagship — hundreds of sellers, thousands of visitors, a smooth operation: phone reservations (+33 6 25 05 16 35), standard pitches (4x2.5m), flat €12, on-site refreshments.

Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue

About 8,500 residents midway between Avignon and Carpentras. Its name — "between the waters" — refers to the Sorgue arms from Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. Worthwhile heritage: Saint-Martin church, castle remains, fountains and washhouses. Part of Avignon's urban area with active community and commercial life.

Visitor tips

Come early for the best picks and to avoid afternoon heat in May. Cash in small denominations. Park in peripheral car parks (centre pedestrianised for the day). Combine with Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (international brocantes nearby) or Avignon.
