Every year on August 14th, the eve of the Assumption, Mirande transforms into a huge treasure hunting ground for its giant car boot sale combined with the big traders' sale. This event is one of the highlights of the summer in the Gers, attracting a considerable crowd of bargain hunters, strollers, and festival-goers.

A town centre entirely dedicated to treasure hunting

The streets and squares of the town centre of this medieval bastide are taken over by hundreds of private exhibitors offering clothes, toys, books, crockery, furniture, trinkets, tools, and objects of all kinds. At the same time, local traders set up their sales in front of their shops, offering exceptional promotions and destocking. The treasure hunting route extends throughout the entire grid layout of the bastide.

The giant car boot sale is part of a program of August 15th festivities that span several days. Free concerts are organized in the evening in the main square, with various bands. On August 15th, family entertainment takes over: bouncy castles, pony rides, water activities at the Batardeau leisure centre, children's shows, and a dancing karaoke evening.
