Gargas en Fête is the major spring gathering in the ochre village. On Place des Jardins, from 7am to 6pm, around 150 private and semi-professional exhibitors meet for a full day of hunting in the festive atmosphere of an emblematic Luberon village. Fee: €10 for 4 linear metres. A flea market on the scale of a major village event.
Gargas en Fête, a village highlight
The Gargas en Fête flea market is one of the most popular events in the Pays d'Apt. Held on Place des Jardins, it gathers between 51 and 250 exhibitors depending on the year, over a long time slot (7am-6pm) that allows hunters to take their time. The event fits into the festive dynamics of the village and attracts visitors from Apt, Roussillon, Cavaillon and the Avignon area.
The ochre setting, a unique asset
Gargas lies at the heart of the Luberon ochre massif, one of Provence's most photographed landscapes. The Bruoux Mines, the Roussillon ochre trail and the Provençal Colorado at Rustrel create an exceptional tourist environment.
What to find
Mostly private sellers with some semi-pros: bric-a-brac, vintage clothing, toys, books, comics, vinyl records, tableware, old linen, small furniture, decorative items, Provençal pottery, old farming tools.
Exhibitor fees
Fee: €10 for 4 linear metres (€2.50/metre), particularly attractive, which explains the strong exhibitor turnout each year.
