Plant swap and garden gear market in Cagnac-les-Mines
Every spring, gardeners from the Albi mining basin gather in Cagnac-les-Mines for the Jardin Nature Garden Flea Market. On the programme: plant swap, cuttings exchange, second-hand garden tools and furniture, all in a friendly atmosphere where amateurs pick up tips from seasoned gardeners. The perfect way to kick off the gardening season with bargains.
Held in spring in Cagnac-les-Mines, in the Carmausin-Ségala mining basin, the Jardin Nature Garden Flea Market steps off the beaten path. No generic bric-a-brac here: the event focuses exclusively on the garden. Perennials, herbs, shrubs, seedlings, seeds, bulbs, cuttings, plus pots, planters, old tools, second-hand mowers, outdoor furniture and garden decoration fill the stalls.
The event brings together private individuals, community garden associations and occasionally small local growers for a free, inclusive afternoon. Chatter flows freely between stalls: sowing tips, composting, crop rotation and good hardy Tarn varieties.
Extend your visit to the Musée-Mine départemental which tells the story of the Carmausin mining heritage, or explore the hills between Carmaux and Albi and the nearby Gaillac vineyards.
