Fressenneville Spring Flea Market

A flea market run by the Comité des fêtes

In Fressenneville as in many Somme communes, the Comité des fêtes (local festivities committee) plays an essential role in community life. It organises the 8 May 2026 spring flea market, with Xavier Tavernier as coordinator. Setup starts at 6am, the event opens at 8am and runs until 5.30pm. On place de la République, in the heart of the village, stalls line up for a day of bargain hunting in the pure Picard tradition.

Place de la République is the historic heart of Fressenneville. It's where communal life happens: town hall, shops, cafés, major events. On flea market day it transforms into an open-air popular market. Sellers, mostly villagers and neighbours from the Vimeu, lay out their treasures in the gentle 8 May light. Visitors stroll peacefully between stalls, commenting on prices and finds.

Countryside bric-à-brac

The offering is a classic Vimeu flea market: children's and adults' clothing, toys, books, records, tableware, small furniture, trinkets, baby items, tools, decorative items. You also encounter industrial or craft pieces reflecting Vimeu's know-how (locksmithing, taps, small mechanics): old tools, mechanical parts, work items of interest to industrial heritage collectors. Prices are negotiable and bargains await.

Fressenneville, Vimeu industrial village

Fressenneville is a rural and industrial Vimeu commune, a region of south-western Somme famous for its locksmithing and tap-making. The village has around a thousand residents and retains its Saint-Vaast church, preserved streets and active economy. A few kilometres from the Picard coast (Mers-les-Bains, Ault, Le Tréport) and Baie de Somme, Fressenneville enjoys a prime location between sea and countryside.
