The spring flea market of the Gymnastique Volontaire
A rural commune of the Albi metropolitan area, Fréjairolles hosts a large flea market each spring run by the Gymnastique Volontaire association. Beyond bargain hunting, the event is also a highlight of local community life, funding the GV activities and bringing several village partners together, including Génération Mouvements with seasonal flowers.
Fréjairolles stretches along a hillside between Albi and the Dadou valley. Its village center and small squares welcome the stalls in a human-scale setting. The proximity to Albi (via N88, 10 minutes by car) lets the event draw Albigeois hunters and nearby families without urban crowds.
Mostly private sellers from the village and neighboring communes offer the Tarn classics: adult and children's clothing, toys, books, games, crockery, knick-knacks, small furniture, baby equipment, tools, vinyl records, and curiosities. Relaxed atmosphere, attractive prices, and easy chats.
The flower sale adds a colorful touch. Volunteers run refreshments all day. It is an ideal Sunday outing for families: bargain hunting, supporting local associations, and a simple village moment.
