The spring gathering for bargain hunters in the Tarn valley
A commune on the right bank of the Tarn just a few kilometers from Albi, Arthès holds its spring flea market each year. The event has become a popular gathering for the Greater Albigeois area, drawing families for a Sunday of open-air bargain hunting.
The flea market takes place on the parking lot of the Georges Albinet hall, Place François Mitterrand, at the heart of the village. The generous space comfortably welcomes both exhibitors and visitors, with the community hall as the logistical hub. Aisles extend outdoors in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere typical of rural Tarn flea markets.
Mostly made up of private sellers, the flea market offers the great classics: adult and children's clothing, second-hand toys, books, crockery, knick-knacks, small furniture, baby equipment, vinyl records, tools, and gardening items. Local collectors sometimes add postcards, advertising items, and curiosities.
The event starts early — seasoned hunters often arrive before 7 am for the best deals. A refreshment stand and light meals are available on site. Wear comfortable shoes, bring small change and a sturdy bag. Take advantage of your visit to walk along the Tarn river or continue to Albi's historic center, just 10 minutes away by car.
