The spring flea market of the Parents' Association
The Arthès APE flea market is one of the highlights of the community calendar in this town on the outskirts of Albi, on the banks of the Tarn. Organised by the Parents' Association, it has a twofold purpose: to offer residents a friendly bargain-hunting morning and to fund school and educational projects for the children of Arthès (field trips, cultural outings, teaching materials, end-of-year celebrations).
Private sellers from Arthès and neighbouring towns unpack their second-hand items: toys, baby equipment, children's books, children's and adult clothing, crockery, small furniture, trinkets, sports items, vinyl records, comics. The family atmosphere makes it ideal for finding a birthday gift, crockery to set up a student, or a vintage toy.
Arthès, with around 2,500 residents nestled on the north bank of the Tarn, cultivates an Occitan way of life where community events hold a central place. Parent volunteers give a warm welcome, the refreshment stand runs full steam, you meet the school teachers, grandparents helping out and children playing among the stalls.
Arriving early gets the most sought-after children's items. Bring small change, a reusable bag and water on sunny days. Parking is easy thanks to nearby communal areas. On your way back, stroll along the Tarn's banks for a digestive walk.
Arthès is 5 km north-east of Albi, via the D74. Free parking near the schools and community hall.
Sellers set up early in the morning. Usually open to the public from 8am to 5pm.
Mainly private sellers. Booking via the Arthès APE.
Refreshments and catering on site run by parent volunteers. Public toilets nearby.
