The La Latière Fair: a centuries-old tradition in the heart of the Double

Every year in September, the locality of La Latière, nestled in the heart of the Forêt de la Double, hosts the Foire d'Automne, a legendary event that perpetuates the agricultural and artisanal traditions of this mysterious territory in Dordogne. More intimate than the spring edition, this autumn fair is appreciated by connoisseurs for its authenticity, with only stalls from producers, artisans, and everything related to agricultural work.

Cattle competitions and rural traditions

The fair features an award-winning competition for suckler cows and veal calves, demonstrations of sheep shearing and sheepdog trials, as well as an exhibition of vintage tractors and mopeds. An Occitan stand, sculpture and pruning demonstrations, and folk entertainment complete this immersion into the rural world of Périgord.

Car boot sale and producers' market

A car boot sale accompanies the fair, offering bargain hunters the opportunity to combine finds with gastronomic discoveries at the local producers' market. Catering is available under the market halls and for takeaway, featuring local specialties from the Double region.
