Fair and flea market in Pouligny-Saint-Pierre, village of the famous AOP cheese in Brenne
The Foire brocante de Pouligny-Saint-Pierre takes over the streets of this village which gave its name to one of France's most renowned goat cheeses. Exhibitors offer rustic furniture, country tableware, pottery, old tools, books, toys, trinkets, embroidered linens, clothing, and various flea market items. The fair complements the flea market with local products, local artisans, and entertainment, making this a popular event for residents and tourists visiting Brenne.
Pouligny-Saint-Pierre is a village of about 1,000 inhabitants located in the heart of the Brenne Regional Natural Park. It is world-famous for the cheese that bears its name, a raw milk AOP goat cheese with a slender pyramid shape, benefiting from an appellation of origin since 1972. The Maison du fromage et des produits locaux (House of Cheese and Local Products) allows visitors to discover this unique gastronomic heritage. The village is also the gateway to Brenne, the Land of a Thousand Ponds, the third largest continental wetland in France, a paradise for ornithologists and naturalists.
The Pouligny-Saint-Pierre fair and flea market offers on-site catering with local cheese tasting. Admission is free.
