The atmosphere is that of an authentic village flea market, where conviviality prevails and prices are affordable.

Pouligny-Saint-Pierre, birthplace of an exceptional cheese

Pouligny-Saint-Pierre is a commune of about 1,000 inhabitants located in the southwest of the Indre department, in the heart of the Brenne region. The village is world-renowned for its truncated pyramid-shaped AOP goat cheese, one of the oldest French goat cheeses. The Maison du Fromage et des Produits locaux (House of Cheese and Local Products), inaugurated in 2011, offers tasting and sale of this emblematic cheese as well as over 150 varieties of cheeses. The village is surrounded by a landscape of hedged meadows and ponds characteristic of the Brenne region.
