May Flea Market in the village of Pouligny-Saint-Pierre, land of the AOP goat cheese in Brenne
The Pouligny-Saint-Pierre flea market takes over the streets of this renowned village in the Brenne Regional Natural Park every May. Exhibitors, professionals and individuals, offer antique furniture, trinkets, tableware, old tools, books, clothing, linens, and flea market items. The atmosphere is that of an authentic village flea market, where conviviality prevails and prices are affordable.
Pouligny-Saint-Pierre is a commune of about 1,000 inhabitants located in the southwest of the Indre department, in the heart of the Brenne region. The village is world-renowned for its truncated pyramid-shaped AOP goat cheese, one of the oldest French goat cheeses. The Maison du Fromage et des Produits locaux (House of Cheese and Local Products), inaugurated in 2011, offers tasting and sale of this emblematic cheese as well as over 150 varieties of cheeses. The village is surrounded by a landscape of hedged meadows and ponds characteristic of the Brenne region.
The Pouligny flea market offers an opportunity to discover this exceptional terroir while looking for a bargain. The visit can be extended by tasting the famous Pouligny-Saint-Pierre AOP. Entry is free.
