Traditional fair with flea market, car boot sale, rillons tasting and village entertainment
For over half a century, the small village of Le Liège, located a few kilometers from Loches, has celebrated rillons every autumn, this emblematic charcuterie specialty of Touraine. Rillons — pieces of pork belly preserved in their fat and caramelized — are one of the jewels of Touraine gastronomy, just like rillettes de Tours. The Foire aux Rillons combines this culinary tradition with a large flea market and car boot sale that attracts hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors each year.
The program for the Foire aux Rillons is rich and varied. The Champ de Foire, rue de la Couture, hosts a large-scale flea market and car boot sale where you can find furniture, trinkets, tableware, clothing, and collector's items. The funfair with its rides delights the younger ones, while demonstrations, country music entertainment, and pony rides complete the program. The heated hall allows you to taste the rillons and enjoy a full meal for 15 euros per person.
Le Liège is a rural commune in Indre-et-Loire, part of the canton of Loches. This peaceful village, surrounded by fields and woods, retains an authentic character that is the charm of Southern Touraine. The Foire aux Rillons is the highlight of community life, uniting volunteers from the Comité des Fêtes and residents in a typically Touraine spirit of conviviality. The proximity of Loches and its historical monuments allows you to combine a visit to the fair with the discovery of the royal city.
