Richerenches Flower Fair

A well-rooted spring tradition

On Sunday 3 May 2026, Richerenches puts on its finest colours for its annual Flower Fair, one of the great popular spring events of the Enclave des Papes. The 2026 edition is part of a long tradition spanning over three decades, supported by the Festival Committee, volunteers and the commune. Each year thousands of visitors converge on the village to buy garden plants, fresh or dried bouquets, and enjoy the cheerful atmosphere in streets decorated for the occasion.

Far more than a horticultural fair: diverse stalls

Horticultural exhibitors form the heart of the fair (nurseries, herb and vegetable plant producers, florists, Mediterranean plant specialists, cacti and succulents, exotic plants, dried flowers, bouquets, wooden flowers), but the event has progressively broadened to local craft, terroir products, garden pottery, decorative objects, gardening tools, garden books, small outdoor furniture, wicker, and plant exchange between private gardeners.

Entertainment and festive atmosphere

The village is decorated: flowered stalls, garlands, ornaments by Committee volunteers. Entertainment punctuates the day: folk music group (Banduras featured in past editions), face painter, creative workshops, raffle with horticultural prizes, family games. On-site catering by volunteers, refreshments.

Richerenches, a unique medieval setting

Founded in the 12th century by the Templars, Richerenches keeps its original rectangular plan, walls, corner towers and narrow streets. Holding a flower fair in this medieval setting creates striking visual contrast between flower colours and limestone stonework.
