Entrecôte and Shallot Fair and Car Boot Sale in Saint-Genouph, a gourmet festival by the Loire
The Foire aux Entrecôtes à l'Échalote de Saint-Genouph is one of the most popular events in Touraine. Over more than a kilometer of stalls, around 300 exhibitors offer furniture, tableware, toys, clothing, books, trinkets, tools, decoration, vinyl records, and objects of all kinds. On Saturday evening, guests gather for a country meal where grilled entrecôte with shallots is the undisputed star, accompanied by a country music dance, fairground rides, and the traditional St. John's Eve bonfire.
Saint-Genouph is a small village of about 1,800 inhabitants nestled on the left bank of the Loire, opposite the Château de Villandry and its famous gardens. This authentic Loire village, part of the World Heritage Loire Valley, offers an exceptional setting for this festival. On Sunday, the car boot sale starts as early as 6:30 AM along the village streets, with a brass band, children's shows, and a fireworks display in the evening.
Saturday evening: country meal (entrecôtes), country music dance, St. John's Eve bonfire, fairground rides. Sunday: car boot sale from 6:30 AM to 6 PM, brass band, entertainment, fireworks display. Free entry and parking.
